This is just a quick blog post as I’m putting the feelers out for an exciting event happening in September. Yarndale is happening at Skipton Auction Mart on 28th and 29th September. It’s a fair old journey up to Skipton, and not one that some of our stitchers can make easily on their own. So thanks to a wonderful customer who mentioned coach trips, I came up with the idea of a coach trip to Yarndale on Saturday 28th September.
It’s a huge new show, and features some of our shop favourites such as Fyberspates, Easyknits, Susan Crawford Vintage, and UK Alpaca as well as some personal favourites such as A Stash Addict, Nest, Purlescence, John Arbon, Sparkleduck, Skein Queen and Laalbear. A full list of exhibitors can be found here. Entry to the show is just £5.50 which given the size of the show, we thought was rather a bargain. Now what we need to know is how many of you would be interested in coming with us? We’re hoping to get a quote from a coach company, but need to let them know what sort of numbers we would need so we know what size coach is needed! We expect that the coach fare may be anywhere between £20 and £30. The plan is that the coach would depart from Notcutts at 0800 on Saturday 28th September, take us to Yarndale, wait for us (poor driver) and then depart at 1730, arriving back at Notcutts at 2000. The show is open from 1030 to 1730, so you would hopefully get at least from 1100 to 1700 at the show. We appreciate that this would be a long old day, but we really think it would be worth it. Timings would be similar for a trip to Ally Pally, but I know some Stitchers don’t like busy shows, so we were hoping that because Yarndale is new and away from London, it would be somewhat quieter and more relaxed.
So, if you’re interested, and you’d be willing to pay a deposit within the next 2 weeks, then please leave a comment on this post saying “I’m interested!” All we ask is that you please don’t leave duplicate comments on facebook or twitter, in the hope that we get an accurate idea of numbers.
I don’t know about you, but i’m a little bit excited about this!
