You may have heard about the local fibre festival, Fibre Flurry, that was due to be held at Bournville College on 26th/27th October. You may have also heard that sadly, Fibre Flurry was cancelled last weekend.
We felt terribly sorry for Mikayla, having to make such a difficult decision. But we also felt sorry for the tutors who were booked to teach, and the stallholders who were due to appear at the festival. For many of these people, the income from festivals like this pays their bills, and now suddenly after investing their time in stock and workshop preparation, they had nowhere to go. Likewise, visitors who were coming from afar and had booked transport and accommodation were left without a need to use it, and unable to get a refund. So, so many people were looking forward to Fibre Flurry, and we felt that being one of the closest local yarn shops to where the event was due to be held, we could only do our best to help out. There aren’t any other festivals like this in the midlands, and so we did what we had to do.
We’ve offered the space we have available, and borrowed a little bit more from Notcutts, to the vendors and tutors of Fibre Flurry. And suddenly a couple of stallholders who weren’t appearing at Fibre Flurry have also joined in the fun, and so it’s turning out to be a rather action packed weekend! We’re hoping to add some more, particularly on Sunday, but for now here is a quick run down of our Mini Stitch Up….and who knows…maybe there will be a big Stitch Up in the future….
