To coincide with the new season Bergere de France collection, we have added a 6th of their yarns to our regular stock. So, we now carry Alaska, Magic +, Ideal, Caline, Coton 50 and … Goomy 50.

Goomy is a 4ply yarn composed of 75% wool and 25% polyamide. This blend makes it perfect for sock knitting and it is also machine washable at 30 which makes is brilliant for knits for children and babies too. It comes in 50g/215m balls and costs £4.10 a ball.

We are carrying the 8 variegated colours in the range which are specially dyed to form patterns when knitted in simple stocking stitch. It means you can get the wonderful look of fair isle without any of the complicated colour work.

As with all Bergere yarns, there is a comprehensive range of pattern support. I’ve added to the slippers featured last week with a 4th design from Creations 14/15.  The main body of the sock is Goomy in the Imprim Jaune colourway and the cuff is Ideal in Citronnier. I found it an enjoyable yarn to knit with and the colour changes in the yarn kept my interest even through a simple ribbing pattern.IMG_1013

If you like knitting for children there’s a lovely crossover top from Creations 14/15 available in sizes up to 6 months. The trousers are knitted in Caline so you can easily complete the set. Or how about this little boys cardigan from Mag. 170 for ages 3 months – 2 years?1415MOD994_93437_Fotor_Collage
If you fancy a treat for yourself, the jumper on the left is from Mag 169 and even the size large only uses 6 balls, meaning you can knit the whole jumper, including the pattern book for under £35. The top on the right is in Creations 14/15 and is sized from s – xxl. The ribbed cuffs and edges are in Caline so again you can pick up all you need in store.2Finally, we have substantial discounts on the Bergere de France shades that have been discontinued. Come and check them out in our bargain box!
