Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our Summer Knit Along featuring patterns by Martina Behm. I’ve loved seeing all your entries develop at our Stitch and Sip sessions and online. So, lets see those entries…
The most popular pattern was Hitchhiker. Liz knitted hers in Lang Mille Colori Socks and Lace. I love how the shorter stripes have come out in this.
Another Hitchhiker was entered by Kirstie, this time in Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply in the Peacock colour way. It’s interesting to see how it looks just as effective in a variegated colour way as a self striping one. Kirstie has been knitting for less than a year and I think we can all agree, she’s really got the hang of it.Jenni knitted her Hitchhiker in a Zauberball in Charisma. I think the pops of pink against the dark background looks really rather sophisticated. She enjoyed knitting it so much, she cast on another one straight after! Here’s a progress shot:The last Hitchhiker is by Emma knitted in Drops Alpaca. This really is a pattern that looks great in any colour.
Emma also knitted Matchmaker in Milla Mia Naturally Soft Merino. The colours she chose are even more striking in real life with the yellow in the picture really being a bright lime green.
Kath knitted Magrathea in Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply in Teal. This was Kath’s first charted lace project and she did a great job with it. This photo is before it was blocked and I bet it looked even better afterwards.
Finally, I knitted Endless Rainbow in Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply and Lang Mille Colori Socks and Lace Luxe. I really enjoyed this pattern, lots of simple squishy garter stitch combined with a few clever construction tricks. You can see it displayed in store.
It was great to have so many people participate so thank you again. I think you’re all brilliant. The winner of the £15 voucher, selected using a random number generator was… Emma! Congratulations Emma, you can pick up your gift voucher next time you’re in.
We’re hoping to have more activities for you all to get involved with in the near future so watch this space.
