Our knitting workshops are taught by Anna Baker. Anna is an experienced community teacher and also has her own small business, Spangleberry, selling hand knitted items. 

Introduction to Knitting £30

  • Saturday October 17th 10:30-1

Learn the basic knitting stitches while making a vintage inspired cotton washcloth for the bathroom or kitchen. This is a great introduction to this addictive craft. It is likely you will need to finish your project at home but you will have all the skills you need to do so. Young participants (age 8+) are welcome if accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided.

Knit a Hat in the Round £30

This class is the perfect opportunity to take your knitting beyond knits and purls. You will be introduced to knitting in the round and use your new found skills to start knitting your first beanie hat with your choice of features including a ribbed or rolled brim, stripes and a pom pom. You will also learn to decrease to shape the crown. All materials provided.

Knit a Christmas Stocking £30

  • Wednesday November 11th 10:30-1

Improvers’ knitting for anyone able to make stitches. Make a jolly Christmas stocking (or two …) with a sparkly, frosty top and a hanging loop, all ready to fill with a sweet treat and to hang on the Christmas tree. Extend your skills with support. Can be worked in plain knit stitch or stocking stitch. Opportunity to try some basic shaping techniques, plus refresher for cast on and cast/bind off.
